May 2, 2016 {Week 46}: EL SUR

Okay so Tuesday night, we were with Hermana Fanny so she could get a blessing(they’re precious dog Osa dieddddd! :(( ) and it started getting really windy and drizzling a bit and it was the sur!  [For those of you wondering what EL SUR is, just as I was until I asked her…apparently EL SUR is the cold weather that comes up from Argentina.  I know nothing else about it.  It didn’t seem too last long and I have no idea if it is reoccurring event or if it is one time good thing.  I will have to find out.] We froze out little toes that night sleeping, so asked for cobijas(blankets) the next night. But it was suuuuper frescito on Wednesday and windy and rained ALLLL Wednesday night then we got to wear our hair down all week and cuter clothes and makeup and it was heavenly! I felt pretty for like the first time in 9 months! It was awesome.  I wish the weather would stay like this, but today yeah it’s moving on and 94 degrees is looking like the future till the end of cambios, which are NEXT Wednesday in case you are interested haha.

oh! Hermana Nelson and I started some exercises for real this week with- “you are your own gym”, the entire zone has started this week(minus the 2 other sisters) and we were flippin SORE like all week. But it’ll be good for us in the end, gonna start week 2 tomorrow with Hermana Nelson.

So I have some scriptures about exercises!!! Because I am a sister missioanry with almost a year out and now with Hermana Azabache hear we´ve realized that literally ALL of our jokes are about mission stuff OR just citing verses from the Bible and Book of Mormon at opportune moments, it’s a little pathetic but simultanesouly super awesome haha. So we have to be ‘diligent’ like in Mosiah 4:27 to win our newly named sister missionary prize of “Six Months to Sexy” and to be strong like unto men as it says in 1 Nephi 17:2(which came to me after saying a prayer to be able to do exercises one night haha…..)

okay! moving on to other stuff this week……..

The marriage was SUPER stressful all day! We didn’t eat lunch until 3. We walked all over tarnation back and forth in our area to get things rolling, and OF COURSE we live in Bolivia so everything started an hour and a half late. And sometimes support for these types of activites is really low so there was some stress from that and we decorated and we cleaned and no one else was stressed. And the dress wasn’t ready til half an hour before nor the rings or the cake or the decorations! We just have to remember that Bolivians don’t stress, only missionaries haha.  But everything turned out super beautiful(and you’ll see photots next week) and he was ready for his baptism on Saturday!

Hermanita Ibeth got baptized along with Gordo(hijo de la familia Lino, pension de cena) and Marcos.  It was cooooold to be getting baptized at 7 at night(it started an hour late of course), but they were all so happy and we took LOTS of pictures! so I will be sending those home next week too! I am so happy and grateful to be seeing people I love and who the Lord loves making sacred covenants to follow Him.  Hermana Marcos said that they will be going to the temple in April of next year to be married in the temple!!!!  Hermana Vega says she’ll be coming down for their sealing and I would love to too!  But we will have to see…

I love the gospel!  I love my Father in Heaven and all that He and Christ have done for us.  I can’t imagine what life would be like without the Gospel… well actually I can, but I don’t think it would be a life quite so happy as this one.  The Gospel has been shared since the beginning of time with the children of men, and that is why there have been prophets!  Like Adam and Abraham and Moses, and Isaiah, to teach and preach the gospel to God’s children!  So that we could receive the direct revelation that He shared with His mouthpieces, the prophets, because “surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets”(Amos 3:7) and after all the prophets in the Old Testament we come to Christ’s life. Where as the Son of God He organized His church and the Kingdm of God on earth. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). He organized it based on 4 fundamental pillars, He being the chief cornerstone and as the only man receiving DIRECT revelation from God as well. He having the power to cast out demons, heal the blind and the lepers and raise the dead and do all manner of miracles with the power of God, or the priesthood.  And that is how He organized the church, being one of order, to bless and show the love of God to His children.  I just love the simplicity of the Gospel that we get to teach everyday, knowing that it is the SAME church that Christ organized, based on prophets who receive revelation and apostles who have the priesthood of God(or the power of God on earth to act in the name of Christ)….

I am so blessed to be a missionary in these latrer days! I’m praying for each of you and trying my best to be obedient and happy so that I can see miracles in my loved ones way across the sea and land.  I love you! And don’t forget that God loves you too! Even when you can’t feel it or don’t think so.  Don’t fear men, only God.  Do all your things having fear for His judgement in the last and great day!

Love you all!!!!!!!! super big hug!!
